As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—from the comfort of your home. Responsibilities Provide 1-on-1 online ACT Reading tutoring to students. Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like. Utilize the Live Learning Platform to conduct sessions remotely, with no commuting required. Be matched with students that fit your teaching style and subject expertise. Use resources like the AI-powered Tutor Copilot to enhance sessions, generate lessons, and improve engagement while saving prep time. Invoice for tutoring sessions and manage payments with Varsity Tutors’ support handling logistics. What We Look For In a Tutor Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style. Expertise in ACT Reading with the ability to explain concepts clearly. Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles. Prior tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education are preferred. Ways To Connect With Students 1-on-1 Online Tutoring – Provide personalized instruction to individual students. Instant Tutoring – Accept on-demand tutoring requests when available. About Varsity Tutors Our mission is to transform the way people learn by leveraging AI, technology, and the latest in learning science to create personalized learning experiences. Through 1-on-1 Online Tutoring, students receive customized instruction that helps them achieve their goals. Our platform matches students with tutors to foster better outcomes and a passion for learning. Compensation and Logistics Base contract rates start at $18/hour and can increase for specialized subjects, with potential to reach up to $40/hour for ongoing sessions with the same student. Get paid up to twice per week for tutoring sessions you conduct and invoice for. Set your own schedule and tutor as much as you’d like. Remote tutoring with no commuting required. We handle the logistics; you invoice the sessions and we process payments. Important Notes Please note: Varsity Tutors does not contract with tutors in the following locations: Alaska, California, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, or Puerto Rico.
