About the Opportunity

Our client is operating one of the most advanced steel production facilities in the region and is expanding rapidly. They are seeking highly skilled Electrical Maintenance Technicians to join their team in Huger, SC.

This role is ideal for military veterans with electrical or nuclear ratings— Navy Nuke EM/ET, Conventional EMs, Army 91B/91C, Air Force Electrical Systems, etc. Candidates with strong theoretical and practical electrical knowledge who want long-term growth will thrive here.

What You’ll Do

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in keeping the plant operating safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include:

  • Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on a wide range of electrical systems
  • Troubleshooting AC/DC motors, drives, power distribution systems, control systems, and overhead cranes
  • Applying strong electrical theory, including Ohm’s Law and Kirchhoff’s Law , in daily troubleshooting
  • Working with medium and low voltage equipment, starters, and drives
  • Supporting operations by recommending improvements and implementing solutions
  • Collaborating with team members to maintain high safety and operational standards
  • Using schematics, diagrams, and electrical drawings to perform repairs and diagnostics
  • Learning new technologies and advancing through structured training levels (with pay increases)

 

What Makes You a Great Fit

Required:

  • Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair capability
  • Solid knowledge of electrical principles (Ohm’s Law, Kirchhoff’s Laws)
  • Experience with medium/low voltage systems, drives, motors, etc.
  • Ability and desire to continuously learn new technologies
  • Demonstrated safety mindset in industrial or military environments
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts in a heavy industrial environment

Preferred (Not Required):

  • PLC experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, GE, etc.)
  • High-voltage electrical experience
  • Overhead crane maintenance
  • Experience with substations or power distribution
  • U.S. military veteran with electrical, nuclear, or mechanical-electrical MOS/rating

 

Military Backgrounds That Transition Well

  • Navy: EM, ET, MM (especially Nuke-qualified)
  • Army: 91C, 91D, 91B (with strong electrical exposure), 94 series with electrical specialty
  • Air Force: Electrical Systems (3E0X1), Electrical Power Production (3E0X2)
  • Marines/Coast Guard: Any electrical or power generation roles

Compensation & Benefits

  • $95,000–$105,000+ first year (base pay + built-in overtime)
