GRAPHIC DESIGNER / PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

JH Design Unlimited is a family-owned business located in St. Lucie West. This business was founded on art first and foremost, and has grown to produce work that shows off the art created. We are a graphic design, print, apparel, sign, and vehicle wrap shop. We do a little bit of everything and were seeking a versatile team member to assist with the graphic design and production of a multitude of things.

We want someone who is a team player, who will be ready to jump in and help in multiple areas of the business. It could be answering a phone, designing a business card, assisting a customer, load vinyl onto a printer, or even help glassing vinyl on a car. Here at JH Design Unlimited, everyone has a main job task but we help one another and in return produce the best work for our clients.

We are looking for an experienced graphic designer who preferably has worked in a wrap/sign shop before. Who has an eye for art and knows how to listen to what a customer is saying and turn words into graphics but not just any graphics, the graphics our clients see in their head. We are looking for someone to make apart of our team and help grow themselves and in return the company they work for.

This is an IN-HOUSE position and this isnt just a graphic design position. This job role will include a lot of production work, not just design.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Software: Adobe Illustrator & Adobe Photoshop
• Be able to show a portfolio of design work done from work experience.
• Design
  • Be able to design print items and know how to set up for print.
  • Be able to design per customer requests (business cards, post cards, stationary, apparel, signs, & more.)
  • Must know when to use Illustrator vs. Photoshop
  • Be able to speak with clients and understand their vision to execute design within a time frame.
  • Be able to design within particular time frames.
  • Be able to acknowledge how much time should be needed for particular designs.
• Have basic math skills and the ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
• Be able to use PC & be computer literate.
• Be able to use light power equipment and tools (sheet cutters, saws, drills, etc.)
• Be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
• Be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Be able to organize tasks and determine priorities.
• Be able to work independently and occasionally alone in the shop.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment and follow directions according to customers orders.
• Work safely and maintain a safe work environment by keeping it clean and organized.
• Must have a valid driver license.
• Must be able to speak English fluently.

PREFERRED:

• Software: Corel Draw, InDesign, Versaworks, Microsoft Outlook, & QuickBooks Time (Online)
• Experience designing vehicle wraps & boat wraps.
• Experience doing large format lamination.
• Knowledge and experience with working with large format printers.
• Experience plotting and weeding decals.
• Experience mounting vinyl on substrates.
• Experience working with and heat pressing apparel.
• Customer Service

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelors degree in Graphic Design or related field
• 1-3 Years in a graphic design and experience in a print production environment

SCHEDULE

• Monday Friday
• 8:30 am 5:00 pm (30 minute lunch)

SALARY

• $17 - $25 per hour
