Job Description

Overview Incident Response Project Manager role at Abacus Solutions. You will be primarily dedicated to external, client-facing projects within the Incident Response team. You will drive successful, thorough, and robust project deliverables that result in progressive change and secure enhancements to client technical environments. As the primary face of the team on client calls, you will field questions, establish trust, and set precedent as the go-to person for all incident-related matters. You will understand the current state of an incident, establish ownership of the overall direction of containment and recovery, and ensure all parties are aligned with defined verticals. You will work with the primary lead engineer leading containment and recovery strategies and deliver agreed-upon strategic initiatives to all parties. This is a dynamic, on-call rotation role reporting to the Director of Incident Response PMO. Able to respond at a moment’s notice as part of the team’s on-call rotation. Responsibilities (including, But Not Limited To) Project Management Coordinate multiple external technical projects from inception to completion. Follow established core processes, project templates, and methodologies. Lead professional services stand-ups & meetings; collaborate on project planning, design, deliverables, timelining, and contingency planning. Translate SOW requirements into realistic, executable project plans; manage resources to deliver on-time outcomes. Track and manage project budget from start to finish; oversee T&M scope and time entries for validity. Employ creative measures to keep project scope contained; ensure QA standards are met before delivery. Outline goals, strategy, and execution with Entara’s engineers: assist with initial triage and access for project kick-off; develop project proposals and scope documentation; address disagreements using conflict management techniques; assign and align resources for projects; monitor progress and identify roadblocks. Monitor and summarize progress to stakeholders: Entara Leadership, Finance, Client Contacts, and IR Partners; set and conduct status meetings; create PowerPoint presentations and project reports as required; participate in incident response on-call rotation for IR projects. Identify when escalation to higher-level resources is necessary; address billing disputes, overruns, and customer service issues with meaningful resolutions; conduct post-mortems to improve internal processes. Problem Solving Actively participate in project teams to resolve technical or business roadblocks; verify outcomes. Make sound judgments when resources or data are limited; challenge requirements to deliver the right solution at the right time and cost. Apply understanding of intermediate to advanced systems configuration, management, and maintenance in areas such as: Microsoft technologies: Windows Server, Exchange, SQL Server, SharePoint, Active Directory, GPO, LAPS, SCCM, MDT, Intune, O365, Azure. Virtualization: VMware, Hyper-V; restore/re-image virtual servers, rebuild hosts and domain controllers; manage backups and disaster recovery; remote access and VPN/ Citrix. Diagnostic tools: review event logs, Syslogs, monitoring data, and memory dumps. Security-enhancing solutions (including MFA and endpoint protection). Metrics / Measuring Success Maintain billable utilization targets; generate and update mandatory reports daily; meet or exceed project deadlines. Keep projects profitable while maintaining quality; use variance formulas to measure success; contribute to high customer satisfaction scores. Record complete change details, time worked, and notes in ServiceNow in real-time; identify opportunities for process improvement. Following Process Follow Entara’s project process to configure, test, implement, refine, document, monitor, and transition deliverables. Adhere to Entara’s Change Management Process for approved client environment changes; communicate status and gather feedback professionally. Skills And Experience Strong technical project delivery background; ideally four-year degree; working towards or holding PMP certification. Experience managing projects as the assigned PM with client-facing communication, expectations, and timelines. Proven track record owning client-facing projects and achieving high client satisfaction at project closure. At least 5 years of IT project delivery experience with systems and virtualization in enterprise environments. Excellent organizational skills and a commitment to quality; strong writing and verbal communication, able to engage C-suite and engineers alike. Flexible working hours; able to extend into evenings, weekends, and holidays as required; willingness to travel occasionally for client sites; compensation, flexible PTO, and supportive team culture. Ready for remote work with a dedicated home office, private internet connection (min 50 Mbps). Public Wi-Fi and shared spaces do not meet requirements.
