Job Description

Hastings Senior Health & Living,  a Cassia community, is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)  to join our team as a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC).  This is your opportunity to join a solid, stable, and fun team. As a  Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN )  at  Hastings Senior Health & Living , you’ll provide compassionate, high-quality care to residents, administer medications, and collaborate with a dedicated team to ensure the best possible outcomes. The ideal candidate is a skilled and dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN ) who thrives in a team-oriented environment and is committed to enhancing the lives of older adults.

Position Type:  Part-Time working varying hours including every other weekend

Shifts Available: 
Days (Flexible start time)
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Wage Range: $24.00 - $26.00 /hour depending on experience

Location: 930 West 16th Street Hastings, MN 55033

We are located near the cities of Cottage Grove, Inver Grove Heights, South St. Paul, Rosemount, Woodbury and Prescott, Wisconsin

Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to all residents, visitors, and staff.
  • Work with admissions, room transfers, and discharges.
  • Transcribe physician orders and assist in preparing residents’ treatment charts.
  • Schedule resident appointments, transportation, and labs.
  • Prepare and file 21-day admission audits on each resident.
  • Maintain and file resident medical records electronically.
  • Direct phone calls, sort mail, and complete other receptionist duties.
  • Perform other tasks as requested.

Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a Health Information Coordinator, Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) or Trained Medication Aide (TMA) required. 
  • Must be able to pass medical terminology class.
  • Current Minnesota LPN license preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of computers, word processing, data processing, and copy machines.
  • Strong leadership, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and team-building skills.
  • Self-starter with a desire to be a part of a team.
