Middle School Assistant Academic Administrator Join to apply for the Middle School Assistant Academic Administrator role at Stride, Inc. Job Description The Assistant Principal directs and coordinates educational, administrative, and counseling activities for high school students, performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Ensures conformance of educational programs to state and local school board standards through evaluation, development and coordination activities; as needed, researches and implements non‑K12 curriculum resources that meet state standards. Helps articulate the school’s mission and vision to ensure all stakeholders share a common understanding and work cooperatively to achieve desired results; utilizes communication technologies and practices that support a predominantly virtual/remote environment. Ensures the school meets the needs of students while complying with local, state, and federal laws regarding special education and other categorical programs (Title I, LAP, CTE). Interfaces with students, families, local municipal court systems, and local districts regarding compliance as it relates to student attendance and engagement in educational programs as defined by school policy and handbook expectations. Develops and oversees implementation of the school’s Student Achievement Improvement Plan. Supervises and evaluates teaching staff; manages teacher performance, provides training for professional development; manages master and lead teachers and programs. Confers with teachers, students, and parents concerning educational and behavioral problems; coordinates with teachers and K12 enrollment regarding expulsions and withdrawals.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises 15‑30 full‑time equivalent employees and/or contractors. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Minimum Required Qualifications Previous supervisory experience Master’s degree Five (5) years of educational experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to clear required background check Other Required Qualifications Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); web proficiency Ability to travel 20% of the time for meetings, professional development, etc. Desired Qualifications Previous experience as an online educator Previous administrative experience Work Environment The position is virtual.
