Our Pickering client, a leading manufacturer specializing in the design and fabrication of metal components for the Construction Industry within North America is looking for MIG Welder/Fitters/Fabricators to join their dynamic team!

Responsibilities:

• Perform MIG welding on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components
• Work with various gauges of steel
• Work with large parts and custom structural steel fabrications
• Fit, fabricate, and weld metal and structural components
• Cut, drill, bevel, and grind metal parts to ensure proper fit-up for welds
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, and bolt parts together
• Read and interpret, blueprints, specifications, diagrams, and schematics to determine best welding process
• Recognize, set up, operate various hand, and power tools such as wheel and die grinders
• Lay out, position, and align parts to ensure proper fit-up for welding
• Set up own jig to help in production process
• Inspect work and ensure quality of products produced according to specifications
• Strict adherence to welding safety regulations and protocols
• Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications and Skills:

• 3 years of MIG Welding experience
• 3 years of experience as a Welder Fitter
• CWB Certification or must have previously held certification
• Able to meet tight deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Solid understanding of blueprints, diagrams, and schematics
• Comfortable working in a welding shop environment (dusty, noisy)
• Physically fit, comfortable bending, twisting and able to stand for long periods
• Must have own welding gear (mask and gloves)
• Able to lift up to 50lbs
• Safety shoes required

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience in the construction or manufacturing industries
• Experience using overhead cranes (asset)
• Experience using forklifts (asset)
• Team player, able to work and communicate effectively with others
• Self-motivated and shows initiative
• Detail-oriented individual

Compensation and Hours:

• Monday to Friday: 8am – 5pm (occasional weekends)
• Pay Rate: $23-25 per hour (based on experience)
