More than 5 years of nonprofit technology consulting or relevant nonprofit experience working on organizational technology initiatives.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience demonstrating the required competencies, skills, and abilities. We welcome applicants with non-traditional educational backgrounds.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize information to draw accurate, logical, and actionable conclusions.

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels of an organization, with strong relationship management skills and the ability to develop rapport with diverse audiences.
  • Motivated by challenges and learning new things in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Reach or exceed monthly utilization goals.
  • Contribute to Build’s internal knowledge management by developing and implementing novel approaches, methods, and deliverables.
  • Support Build’s thought leadership through blogs, webinars, conference participation, and speaking opportunities.
  • Communicate frequently, effectively, and professionally with colleagues, executives, clients, and vendors, serving as the project manager.
  • Update client-facing and internal stakeholders with project status, budget, and timeline updates.
  • Document technical solutions in user-friendly language that combines business information with functional technical writing.
  • Elicit and analyze requirements from end-users to inform business process improvements, documentation for RFPs, and socialize current and future state.
  • Work closely with end-users and Subject Matter Experts to review existing governance, operations, business processes, data, and technology, identifying opportunities for efficiency and improvements.
  • Develop clear, accessible, and digestible findings and roadmaps that help organizations understand what is required to transform.

Who You’ll Work With The Consultant will partner with other Build Consulting team members with nonprofit technology experience in a project-oriented environment, working with multiple clients. Projects are typically performed by teams and, at times, by individual consultants. Since our team members are distributed across the U.S., most work will be performed remotely from a home office or client site.

What You’ll Do Consultants will work on technology assessments, selections, and implementations, guiding nonprofits through strategies that result in meaningful, enduring impact on their mission. You will:

    • Help deliver clear, engaging, and strategic recommendations.
    • Engage key internal experts, conduct research, and evaluate key business systems.
    • Interview and engage key stakeholders.
    • Apply nonprofit technology and data experience to understand complex business/organizational requirements and their technology implications.

Professional Development Through our work and collaboration with our talented team, we are committed to creating opportunities for growth and professional development, underpinned by a strong culture that emphasizes work/life balance. In addition to deep nonprofit technology experience, you must have strong organizational and project management skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to contribute to focused and compelling findings and recommendations, creating clarity for our clients. Together, we develop holistic, compelling, and actionable plans and projects that lead to transformation at our clients while building meaningful, lasting relationships.
