Job Description

*General Description:* The successful candidate, in collaboration with the attending surgeon, offers comprehensive surgical assessments, physical examinations, and execution of appropriate treatment plans. The candidate will demonstrate a high level of expert skill in the diagnosis, treatment and management of surgical patients. The scope of responsibilities include, but not limited to daily rounds with the surgical team, inpatient and outpatient patient management, pre and post operative patient care, diagnostic interpretations, admissions, consultations and discharges.

*Essential Job Duties:*

· Serves as a clinical expert, providing direct patient care including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and devising management plans.

· Pre and post-operative care of patients

· Self-directed and purposeful in seeking necessary knowledge and skills to develop and maintain competency within specialty range.

· Executes and relays medical regimens as directed by the supervising physician

· Assists in all aspects of inpatient and outpatient care

· Participation in the call schedule

· Accurate and complete charting including proficient electronic medical record documentation, histories and physicals as well as discharge summaries.

*Qualifications: *

Licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

Previous surgical experience preferred
