Pastry Lead Cook

As Pastry Lead Cook, you will assist in creating a lasting impression for our guests. We provide upscale desserts and pastries to a variety of events around the St. Louis Area. No two events are the same, so it is always an exciting place to learn and grow your pastry career!

Your commitment to us:

  • Arrive at your station ready to work at scheduled time and in proper uniform
  • Work at a brisk and steady pace, including multitasking, efficiency, and time management
  • Recipe knowledge when prepping or assisting with any other production step
  • Use scales, commercial equipment, recipe cards and perform portion control tests
  • Maintain the kitchen and all of its equipment to a "like new" condition
  • Understand the importance of producing a consistent, quality product that meets and exceeds the guests' needs in a timely and efficient manner
  • Prepare a variety of baked goods and pastries including, but not limited to: Cookie Doughs, Cakes, Brownies, Muffins, Breakfast Breads, Custards, mousses, etc.
  • Knowledge on flavors and how to combining various tastes
  • Decorate and present pastries and baked goods in a tasteful and beautiful way
  • Knowledge of how baking ingredients work together and how they can be used in creative ways
  • Attention to detail
  • Physical strength and stamina to spend long hours standing and performing repetitive motions
  • Assist in the training of new pastry employees
  • Other job duties as assigned

Additional qualifications and requirements:

  • 2 years production pastry experience with a bakery, caterer, or restaurant
  • Associates degree in baking and pastry arts
  • Experience in a high-volume production kitchen
  • Safe food handling and safety is a top priority
  • Professional appearance and conduct
