The Staff Accountant at NY Kids Club & NY Preschool will manage day-to-day financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and support financial reporting processes.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain daily transactional reporting, including distribution of previous day sales results to multiple locations
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, vendor relationships, and general ledger reconciliations
• Reconcile multiple bank and credit card statements on a monthly basis
• Prepare and post month-end journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and approved by Assistant Controller
• Assist in accruals, prepaid expenses, and adjustments to ensure proper expense recognition
• Collaborate with Head of Schools and administrative staff to ensure accurate and timely expense reporting on a monthly basis
• Assist with audits, compliance requirements, and ad-hoc financial projects and reporting as needed
• Identify and implement process improvements to support automation of the accounting function

This job is for you if:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in bookkeeping, preferably with QuickBooks Online
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and proactive communication.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Pay rate based on experience ranges from $30-35/hour

Physical Demands:

The role involves standing, walking, sitting, constant movement, and occasional climbing. The ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds is required. Specific sensory abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjustment of focus.
