We are currently in need of
Assistant WITH EXPERIENCE (1-3 years preferred) in the veterinary field. Our Veterinary Assistants work both independently and side by side with our doctors. Veterinary Assistant must have excellent communication and customer service skills and be a Team Player! We utilize electronic medical records, so computer skills are a must. Experience with Ezyvet preferred but not required.
Our Veterinary Assistant perform various roles such as Exam Room Technician, Treatment Room Technician, and Surgery Technician. Technician responsibilities include obtaining history from clients, assisting in exam rooms, client education, injections, obtaining digital radiographs, performing treatments as directed by the doctors, preparing samples to be sent to outside laboratories, and performing in-house bloodwork. Veterinary Assistant also prepare patients for surgery, and assist in monitoring anesthesia.
~ Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Work requires lifting, carrying and restraining animals (will be assisted by other staff members in lifting animals over 40 lbs.). Should be able to lift 40lbs on own.
~ Walks or stands for extended periods or time; frequently works in a bent or squatting position.
~Able to work long hours.
~ Is experienced in the teamwork approach and works well with all levels of hospital team members.
