Senior Research Analyst (full-time or part-time) This is a grant-supported Senior Research Analyst position with anticipated funding through 2030. The individual will be assigned to the study Growing Up Healthy: Pre/postnatal substance exposure, maternal distress, and adolescent risk behaviors: Role of parent-child interpersonal processes at macro and micro time scales under the supervision of Craig Colder, PhD., Rina Eiden, PhD., and Meghan Leising, Ed.M., and will be an employee of The Research Foundation for SUNY. This is a continuation of a multi-method, longitudinal study of tobacco and cannabis exposed children and their mothers recruited in the 1st trimester of pregnancy. The current phase of the study will examine adolescent’s social and emotional growth, health experiences and health habits, the parent child relationship, the development of social skills and peer networks, and the ways that children’s environment influence these aspects of development. Assessments will take place with families in early, middle and late adolescence. Responsibilities Participant Contact: track participants and schedule appointments. Data Collection: conduct assessments with participating families. Assessments: interview adolescents and parents on sensitive topics, collect heart rate data and hair samples, and video-record family interactions. Administrative Tasks: check data, assist with project mailings, photocopying, maintain the project database, and code observational assessments. Incumbent receives general direction for most activities. Incumbent receives more direct supervision when experimental or unusual processes are involved, and is expected to consult with their supervisor or Project Director as needed. Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree or two years formal training in Psychology or related field and minimum of six months experience conducting research in social sciences required. Experience working with families is also required. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, computer literacy, and strong written and verbal communication skills are integral to the position. Reliable transportation and availability to work evenings and weekends required. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field. Previous experience following research protocols and establishing rapport with varying populations. Substantive interest in child development and family health is highly desirable. Experience with Lotus Notes databases, Microsoft Word, and EndNote. Physical Demands Physical demands are expected to be minimal and typical for a research role.
